ABOUT US. . .
Lake Country Basket Guild meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at Galilee Lutheran Church, N24 W26430 Crestview Drive, Pewaukee, WI 53072 (excluding May for annual Basket Fest).
Monthly meetings focus on a specific weaving project led by a guild member or a regional weaving expert.
If you do not wish to weave the project of the evening, you are more than welcome to bring your own project to work on. Meetings are casual; you can come and go at any time. We have presidential announcements at each meeting that include what projects are upcoming, basketry happenings in the area, and other weaving related information.
Our December meeting is a holiday celebration—no weaving, just socializing. The guild supplies the non-alcoholic beverages and paper products, and we ask members to bring a dish to share (potluck buffet).
We also offer an optional basket exchange. If you wish to participate, bring a basket you made with a value of approximately $35. Make sure it is concealed (usually in a brown paper bag). Each basket is numbered and each person who brings a basket will pick a number (not their own). Baskets are then revealed and there are lots of ooohs and ahhhs! It’s always so much fun to see the great variety of baskets our members make.
A complimentary Basket Fest registration certificate is also drawn at the December meeting/social for the following year.
