LCBG OFFERS THE FOLLOWING…
We publish a
quarterly newsletter (Newsweave) in January, April, July, and October.
It is sent to all registered members via email (mailed to those without internet
access) and aims at keeping everyone informed of opportunities and happenings in
the world of basketry.
The
Newsweave contains information about upcoming meetings, helpful weaving tips
of the month, basket trivia, free patterns, basketry supply business
advertisements, and other weaving related items of interest. They are available
for members to pick up at the meetings or are sent to members unable to attend
the meetings. The Newsweave also contains a membership form, which can
be completed and returned to the VP/Membership with either new membership or
renewal fee. If you would like to advertise your business in our quarterly
Newsweave, check out our
Membership page and/or contact the guild VP/Membership.
Our annual
Basket Fest is held the last weekend in April or the first weekend in May. It is a three-day event.
We bring in well known
instructors from all over the country to teach a variety of weaving classes,
from beginner to advanced. There is also a Basket Boutique (vendor area),
Silent Auction, and our Teachers' Marketplace. There is a separate
registration fee and fees for each class. Brochures and registration
information for Basket Fest are usually available at the December meeting, and
are sent to those who cannot make this meeting. You must be a paid member to
receive the first mailing of the Basket Fest brochure and be included in the
first round of class registrations. The complete brochure (in color) will
then be posted on this website after first round registrations.
We sponsor
an award ribbon for baskets displayed at the Wisconsin State Fair (August). The
winner of the LCBG sponsored ribbon will receive a certificate for one year’s
membership beginning January 1 of the year immediately following the State Fair. |
