ABOUT US
WHAT WE ARE

The purpose of this non-profit organization is to preserve the art of basketry by providing a place for adult weavers to share different techniques and experiences in basketry. The Lake Country Basket Guild (LCBG) values the diversity of all thoughts, and provides programs and services for the celebration and continued sharing of the art of basketry. We are committed to providing activities that are non-discriminatory and equitable for participants.
Monthly meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at Galilee Lutheran Church in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.

The quarterly newsletter (Newsweave) is published in January, April, July, and October.
We sponsor an award ribbon for baskets displayed at the Wisconsin State Fair. (The winner of the LCBG sponsored ribbon receives a certificate for one year’s membership beginning February 1 of the year immediately following the State Fair.

We hold our annual Basket Fest the first weekend in May.

Membership is open to people 18 years and older interested in the art of basketry.
Annual dues are $20.00/individual or $45.00/business (with advertising) and cover the period of February 1 through January 31. Dues are collected from November 1 to January 31.

Membership in LCBG is required to register for the annual Basket Fest.

A member of the LCBG leading a project at one of the monthly meetings (up to two leaders per project), will receive a complimentary one-year membership for the following year.
The coordinator of the Basket Fest will receive a complementary membership for the duration of their tenure as coordinator.

Guild officers will receive complementary memberships during the term of their office.
